Dave Arneson Co-Creator of Dungeon & Dragons
Dave Arneson was born in October 1, 1947, on his 10th birthday he got his first war game table top game that grew to be one of the most loved things in his life. After decades of playing table top games and then playing them professionally, he decided to create his own table top war game which became Blackmore. Blackmore became popular after a few years after its release and was in a way a precursor of the most memorable and known franchise, Dungeon & Dragons. When he met Gary Gygax and both decided to create another table top game but with their own twists to the way its played. Gary Gygax was the artist, the creator of the Dungeon & Dragons world. Dave Arneson was the game designer, the creator of all the rules and systems in the board game. Sadly, years after the release of the game Dave and Gary had a falling out and fought over the revenue Dungeons & Dragons accumulated. However, Dave was alone in this legal battle. For the company that was producing Dungeons & Dragons at the time, Wizards of the Coast, sided with Gary. Dave impressively fought over its right for nearly a decade before saying that he had enough and said that he will give all rights to Gary as long as he does not remove his name, status, and all the advantages connected to having said status. He lived the rest of his days creating and selling other table top games as well as work as a Computer Code & Design professor at a local collage before dying in April 7, 2009.
